The Real Reason We’re Called Full Plate Strength & Conditioning

When people hear our name, they usually smile and say something like:
“Oh, because your clients have a full plate, right?”

That’s true. A lot of the women we work with juggle careers, kids, aging parents, and about 4,000 daily decisions. But the real story behind the name is a little deeper—and a little weirder.

Before I ever coached a single rep, I was a chef. I worked in restaurants and catering kitchens for 10 years to pay my way through college and grad school.

When I started this gym, I wanted to mix the two worlds I knew best:

  • Food
  • Strength training

So Full Plate is a pun. A full plate of nutritious food. A full weight plate on the bar. It’s a name that reminds us to take care of our bodies through what we eat and how we move.

Nutrition questions come up a lot at the gym, so I thought I’d start sharing more of my favorite go-to meals. Here’s a protein-packed breakfast that I make all the time:
👉 Cheesy Bacon Spinach Scrambled Eggs

Steve’s Twist:
Blend the spinach and eggs together—it’s faster, easier to clean, and the color makes me laugh.
Want more protein? Use cottage cheese instead of cheddar. It holds together well, adds texture, and ups your protein count fast.

If you’re someone who feels like you should eat better but doesn’t know where to start, this is a simple step in the right direction.
