Full Plate Method - Rabbit Hole

The rabbit hole is the order of operations for athlete development. We need to do all of these things well. But we start at the top, and work our way down.

Consistency

Consistency is first. We can’t expect to develop as athletes only showing up when we feel like it. Consistent work is the difference between winners and losers. Consistency is the most important. Don’t expect to show up every other day and have great results. Whether you do 2, 4, or 6 days be consistent every week. Do you have the mindset to be consistent?

Effort

Effort is number two. Just showing up isn’t enough. We need to put in the work, to force our body to change. Don’t say “I want to grow” when your effort says “I’m going to take a day off today”. You’re going to have good and bad days…but each day do the best you can that day, even if it’s not 100%. Do you have the attitude to work hard?

Nutrition

Now that we have our consistency and effort dialed in giving us reasons to grow, now let’s give our body something to grow with. This is your nutrition. The carbs and fats that replenish the energy burned. The protein that gives your muscles food to grow with. You can’t build a house with no construction materials. Quality nutrients are key to your athletic success. Do you care enough to eat right?

Sleep

Just like food gives you the construction materials to build muscle, sleep gives you the construction workers to do the job. The more deep sleep you get, the more workers build up your muscle and improve your energy throughout the day. Are you disciplined enough to go to sleep on time?

Program

Consistency, effort, nutrition, and sleep will take you a long way as an athlete. But putting your effort into a training program designed to make you faster, more explosive, and resilient is worth so much more than training arms 3 days per week. Do you have the discipline to give 100% in each program?

Supplements

Supplements are the last and least important component to your development as an athlete. Don’t take a couple supplements while ignoring the entire rabbit hole and expect results. It won’t happen that way. If you aren’t gaining weight, eat more…period. If you aren’t losing weight, what foods do you eat that may be hindering you? Don’t have energy…how does your sleep and nutrition reflect your energy levels?

“Potential honors those who suffer to achieve it. Suffer for success.”
